Our first fundraising event was a smashing success!

About fifty people gathered at the Café St. Petersburg in Newton, Massachusetts on the first night of spring, March 20th, 2014.
Our two key speakers were Julia Korsunsky and Greg Dawson. Greg joined us via Skype from Florida. Greg spoke about his mother Zhanna Arshanskaya, a survivor from Drobitsky Yar massacre.
After a short movie, produced by RememberUs.org, we were joined by artists from Arlekin Players Theater, prodigy child Clark Rubinshtein and his teacher Alexander Prokhorov , and Zhenya Khazanova played piano.
Local businesses donated gift certificates, Greg Dawson donated his books and CDs, and painters from Massachusetts and California donated artwork for our fundraising auction. Overall the event was a great success and exceeded our expectations. We plan a similar event in the fall of 2014.
